In Dubai, water taxis will be replaced with modernized Abra boats

Abra air-conditioned boats will serve passengers on water routes in Dubai.

Several water taxis will soon be replaced by air-conditioned abra boats, announced at the Dubai Highway and Transportation Authority (RTA). The tariff will remain the same.

"Teams from the maritime transport department are replacing several water buses with new, air-conditioned and more comfortable abra in Dubai Marina. These abra are functionally efficient and offer passengers the opportunity to go for a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dubai at the same price," said Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the RTA Public Transport Agency.

Other initiatives to expand the maritime transport network include the opening of the Al Seef station and its connection to the canal network.

“The reopening of Al Seef Station follows Meraas on Al Seef Road. The modernization of maritime modes is expected to attract even more passengers when moving from Al Seef to other Canal stations passing through several tourist points and sites near Creek "- Ali Ali added.
