Emirates and flydubai collaborate dynamically

The strategic partnership of two Dubai-based airlines Emirates and flydubai continues to grow dynamically.

The partnership between Emirates and flydubai, which began with code sharing flights to 29 cities, has already expanded to 84, including new flydubai destinations such as Catania, Krakow, Dubrovnik and Helsinki.

In 2019, the route network will be supplemented by new flydubai destinations - Naples and Budapest, as well as several other cities that will be announced later. In addition, from January 20, flydubai will resume flights to Chittagong, and from February 1, it will launch new flights to Kozhikode, Kerala.

From January to December 2018, the total number of customers transported by airlines amounted to 3.29 million. This list includes passengers of all flights on 84 routes, including popular tourist and exotic destinations such as Bucharest, Kathmandu and Zanzibar. Through a code-sharing partnership, Emirates customers can access 67 additional destinations that are part of the flydubai route network, and flydubai customers can access 115 destinations of the Emirates route network.

“The Emirates-flydubai partnership is gaining momentum, and we are very pleased with the results. It has provided tangible benefits not only to customers but also to the airlines themselves due to the synergy that comes from working together. For example, duplicate routes were reduced and flight schedules were redistributed to general directions, ”commented His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airlines and Group of Companies and Chairman of the Board of Directors of flydubai.

“This collaboration also helped us strengthen Dubai’s position as the world's leading aviation hub. This was made possible with the increase in passenger traffic due to the combination of route networks of airlines, as well as due to convenient connections at a modern convenient international airport,” he added.

Starting December 2, last year, 11 flydubai flights were transferred to Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport for more convenient connections between Emirates and flydubai. This list includes flights to Belgrade, Bishkek, Bucharest, Catania, Helsinki, Krakow, Mineralnye Vody, Prague, Rostov-on-Don, Salalu and Zagreb. During the year, the number of rescheduled flights will also include flights to Napoli and Budapest. Thanks to this, travel of airline customers will become even more convenient.

Transferring flights will also allow travelers departing from Terminal 3 to check-in at the Emirates Business and Economy Class counters. Business-class clients will be able to take advantage of check-in priority and other privileges, and the waiting time for transit passengers will pass quickly and seamlessly.
