Two thirds of the busiest air routes pass through Dubai

7 of the 10 busiest air routes in the Middle East and Africa region pass through Dubai.

Dubai, UAE. Dubai occupies the lion's share of the regional aviation market, as seven of the 10 busiest air routes in the Middle East and Africa pass through Dubai International Airport.

According to a study by OAG, the busiest routes connect Dubai with Kuwait, Muscat, Bahrain, Riyadh, Mumbai, Jeddah and Delhi. Annually, 22,258 flights are operated between Dubai and Indian cities, and 62,878 flights between Dubai and other GCC countries.

Last year, Dubai International Airport served 89.14 million passengers, and by the end of the year it was again recognized as the busiest air hub in the world. According to studies, the Dubai – Kuwait route also entered the top 10 busiest in the world: 40 flights are performed daily between cities.
