Russian woman won the alloy race in Dubai

The Russian woman won the kayaking race in the mountainous region of Dubai.

Russian Milena Mitich was among the winners in the Hatta Women's Kayak competition, held this weekend in Dubai.

The first of its kind in the region was organized by the Dubai Sports Council Women's Sports Committee (DSC) with sponsorship from Hatta Kayak. The funds raised are directed to the teacHER humanitarian initiative.

His Excellency Said Harib, DSC Secretary General, personally oversaw the competition along with Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, a member of the DSC Board of Directors and president of the Women's Sports Committee.

Competitions were held at two distances - 700 and 1200 meters. Mitić became the winner at the longest distance with a result of 12 minutes and 32 seconds.

Lamia Abdulaziz Khan said: “The Hutta with its beautiful but challenging landscape is ideal for various sporting events, and we are certainly looking forward to returning here with even more activities for women.”

Lamia also announced the upcoming triathlon competitions in Dubai and women's cycling in the Al Marmoom Desert.

The Dubai Sports Council has been actively using the rich opportunities of the Hatta mountain region for 10 years. Many sporting events were organized here as part of the annual programs.
