YOUNG, URBAN AND DARING!

February weather in Dubai has a lot to do: it’s not hot, but there are clouds with rain, the slippery road is great! What you need for a real test drive. I remembered about the new MINI creation, and without thinking twice got in touch with the wonderful Russian-speaking girl Gin-toy, the manager of the MINI showroom on Sheikh Zayed Highway. Ginta turned out to be a very active person (however, others simply cannot work in MINI). A few moments with paperwork and now I'm sitting on a comfortable sports seat MINI Cooper S Paceman ALL4 compact crossover!

I start the engine by pressing the Start button. Attention - to the special MINI Cooper S interior line, which includes door ellipses and vertical pillars of the center console.

There are two separate seats on the back, which comfortably accommodate two adults. Trunk and transformer at all! With such a rhythm of life, like mine, the car is my second home. In the trunk there is always a bag with sports things - you never know at what point it will be possible to call at the gym or the beach. And a couple of shoes: I'm a designer, my mood often changes. In addition, on weekends I often go out of town to the desert, so the trunk is important to me. Paceman will fit absolutely everything you need. If the rear seats are folded, an even floor and luggage space of up to 900 liters are formed. If the seatbacks are raised, the luggage space is ample 300 liters.

Three points of the city for two and a half hours at rush hour -real? I will start at 16.00. The first point is the office of our editorial office on Sheikh Zayed Highway. You need to pick up a colleague and continue the test drive already with the navigator by our editor of fashion and style Dariga.

From the MINI showroom to our office, the distance is small, so it didn’t work out particularly well. But those around had a great opportunity to take a closer look at this growling miracle. I call the parking lot in our office a "snail", since it is twisted quite famously: 10 levels of rise to the roof. Voiced due to good acoustics, the roar encourages and drives up, turning the climb into an exciting game. It was even more fun to go down, for some reason I remembered the slides of the water attraction Wild Wadi! But ahead of us are two more destinations Burj Khalifa and Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT).

To be honest, we went to Burj Khalifa to show off and take a photo against the background of the tallest skyscraper in the world. But it wasn’t all around Paceman that people immediately began to walk and look into the salon. Even the formidable security guard, muttering "not allowed" under his breath, carefully studied the car with the edge of his burning eyes. A couple of smiles and we have another five minutes left for the photo shoot. Still, I love Dubai's peacekeepers: you can always negotiate with them!

Heading to JLT

Al Al Khail is heading to JLT. Rush hour on the road, aggravated by rain. The track is wet, slippery, and our goal is to catch up to 18.00, before sunset. Paceman a sophisticated street racer confidently demonstrates all his athletic power at any turn ... The driving style turned out to be a "slalom", where the chips were cars. In accordance with the designation S MINI Cooper S Paceman is a real sports car. Equipped with a twin-scroll turbocharger and Overboost function, the 1.6-liter engine allows fast overtaking as elegantly as its outstanding silhouette. The pendant is lowered by 10 mm, which makes a delightful feeling that you are controlling a kart. As a result, at ten to six we are directly opposite the JLT metro station. Everything goes according to plan!

We return back the same way along Al Khail. The sun has set, dark lights are in auto mode, the light turns on automatically. Thanks to the optional bi-xenon headlights with the function of adaptive turning light following the bends of the road, the light is optimal.

We turn off the highway, but there is traffic jam again. Nearby wasteland and sand. What if you cut the corner, because then the road is clear? Barrier curb plus potholes try? Paceman easily overcomes all obstacles. Two jumps and we are there. On the watch 18.20. They did it!

Verdict: MINI Cooper S Paceman is a daring and vibrant car with a strong character. In a good sense, an "egoist" who knows his own worth. The excellent characteristics of the engine, powerful acceleration dynamics and stability on the roads give it uncompromising in very correct proportions.
