Timekeeper of the Sochi Olympics

The main event of the current winter season, of course, will be the XXII Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in the Russian city of Sochi from February 7 to 23, 2014.

OMEGA became the official timekeeper of the Sochi Winter Olympics. “Today we live in anticipation of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will bear the imprint of the traditions, culture and spirit of modern Russia,” commented on the upcoming mission in the company at OMEGA, known for its rich sports traditions. According to OMEGA President Stephen Urkhart, "everyone at OMEGA is extremely pleased that the next Winter Olympic Games will be held in Sochi": "We work closely with the Sochi Games Organizing Committee and we know that the Black Sea resort will turn this Winter Olympics into a memorable event. Russia is an important the market for our watch brand. When we are going to Sochi to become the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games for the 26th time, we look forward to meeting old friends and expect to make new friends. " Back in May 2011, in the capital of the Summer Olympic Games, the company introduced OMEGA watches, which have since been counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi on February 7, 2014.

And on February 7, 2013 (one year before the ceremony) - countdown hours in eight major cities of Russia - Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Pyatigorsk, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk. All watches with a height of 3.5 meters are made in the same design as the original watches of the 2014 Winter Olympics, which were presented in Sochi in May 2011.

The exception was the countdown clock installed in Moscow on Red Square: they were made not in blue but in red. By the way, the design of the watch is designed to convey the spirit of a dynamic and distinctive country whose plans for the future are as important as history and traditions! Moreover, a number of elements are identified with the historical and cultural heritage of Russia.
