Global Village 17 consecutive years

THE LEADING DESTINATION FOR TOURISM AND RECREATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST - THE FAIR AND ENTERTAINMENT PARK "GLOBAL VILLAGE" ("WORLD WOODEN") - OPENED THE 17TH AND MOST LONG-TERM SHOWER.

This year, 37 national pavilions operate at the fair, in which 65 countries from all continents are represented, including debutants such as Austria, Brazil, Greece, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa, and countries of Eastern Europe. Spectators will not only be able to watch colorful performances, but also taste delicious goodies in more than 160 kiosks throughout the park and world cuisine in 25 restaurants. This year's entertainment program has planned a magnificent colorful show in 3D format lasting 4 minutes, which will be projected at the headquarters of the fair. It will be devoted to the history, traditions and culture of the UAE. Another event is the opening ceremony of the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Fund, President of the UAE, during which handicrafts and handicraft national goods are presented.

In the new season, a mini-train began to run throughout the park for the convenience of guests. At the same time, from November 2, drawings of the Chevrolet Camaro began, in which entrance tickets participate.

It is planned that Global Village will work until March 30, 2013, and it will be served by more than 10 thousand people. "Each time, with our team and our partners, we create new occasions for local families and visitors to come to us and get a pleasant experience at our fair, which presents tastes and cultures from around the globe," said Saeed Al Bin Reda, CEO Global Village

He also noted that this year the project will find its mascot characterizing the multicultural identity of the project. Four international companies are taking part in the work on its creation, the cost of which is estimated at 2 million dirhams (US $ 546.4 million). As expected, the new mascot will be presented to the public this year. “After gaining unprecedented success and consolidating its position in the global tourism arena, Global Village has come to find its own mascot. We will have male and female characters that embody the spirit of the Arab world and at the same time bear the image of multiculturalism and multinationality. Perhaps inside each figures, information equipment will be built in, so they can become guides for visitors, "he said.

Since 1997, when the “World Village” appeared in the area of the Dubai Creek in front of the city hall, it wandered around different sites until in 2005 it found a permanent “residence permit” in the Emirates Road area. In a few years, it grew from the national pavilions of 18 countries to 37. Last year alone, the fair earned more than 1.5 billion dirhams (US $ 409.8 million), and more than 5 million people visited it. Here you can watch live performances, purchase handmade goods, and get acquainted with the traditions of different countries. Entrance ticket to the fair costs 10 dirhams (US $ 2.7), for children under three years old - admission is free. Especially for visitors, 16.5 thousand parking spaces are equipped near the entrance.
