Emirate's Rak Airways Launches First Domestic Flight to Abu Dhabi

RAK Airways, one of the largest carriers in the United Arab Emirates, which resumed operations in 2010 and already served 250 thousand people last year, announced the expansion of its network of flights to Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Recently, John Breiford, chief executive officer of the company, said in her strategic plans to launch a regular flight from Ras Al Khaimah to Abu Dhabi, which, in his opinion, will help bring the capital of the country closer to the northern emirates. “With the launch of this flight, we offer all residents of the northern emirates a good alternative for trips to Abu Dhabi,” said Bradford.

The first flight will be completed on October 3, 2012, and this day will be an important milestone in the history of the company. This flight will be the first domestic air route in the United Arab Emirates. The RAK Airways flight network will thus expand to 10 destinations. This company initiative also aims to popularize Ras Al Khaimah Airport as a major regional center. It should be noted that in the first quarter of this year, the volume of passenger traffic through this terminal grew by 58.5%, overcoming forecast expectations.
