More than 2 thousand emirates expressed a desire to become astronauts

More than 2 thousand citizens of the United Arab Emirates have applied for participation in the space program.

Dubai, UAE. More than 2,000 UAE citizens have expressed a desire to join the first national cosmonaut squad and have submitted relevant applications for participation in the National Space Program, the UAE Space Agency reported.

The youngest candidate - 18 years old, the oldest - already over 60. The agency decided that such statistics indicate a high level of development of society.

It is worth noting that this year 4 emirates will be selected, who will enter the first national cosmonaut squad and go to the ISS in 2021, the year of the 50th anniversary of the UAE.
