Abu Dhabi restaurants will open during Ramadan fasting hours

Abu Dhabi restaurants will operate without partitions during religious fasting during Ramadan.

Dubai, UAE. The authorities of Abu Dhabi allowed local restaurants and cafes to remove the partitions and remove the curtains to openly work during the hours of religious fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. Before sunset, catering facilities were ordered to close windows or entrances so that fasting people could not see diners.

Cafes in the shopping malls Abu Dhabi Mall and Yas Mall were among the first to remove the curtains and began to openly serve visitors during fasting hours. The rule applies to catering establishments in all shopping complexes.

It is worth noting that Dubai and Abu Dhabi softened previously strict rules on the consumption of food and drinks during religious fasting hours. This year, almost all hotels have restaurants and bars open throughout the day.

Federal law still prohibits drinking and eating in public during the daytime hours of Ramadan, threatening violators with a fine of 2000 dirhams, of which there are, however, very few cases. However, residents are not advised to drink and eat in public places during fasting.

It is worth noting that the residents of Abu Dhabi calmly reacted to the introduction of the new rules, because only a few days remain before the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
