UAE President sends humanitarian aid to residents of Kazakhstan

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, ordered that essential goods and food products be sent to residents of Kazakhstan affected by the harsh winter. The President instructed Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the ruler in the Western region and the chairman of the Red Crescent Committee in the UAE, on the need for urgent assistance.

This step was a response to the call of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement for the need to support the people of Kazakhstan. The UAE Red Crescent Organization branch in Kazakhstan will supply essential goods from the local market in collaboration with the Kazakhstan Red Crescent Organization branch.

This winter, the outdoor air temperature in the northern, eastern and central regions of Kazakhstan dropped below -40 degrees Celsius, resulting in multiple breaks in power lines and interruptions in the supply of electricity in settlements.
