Ajman Municipality has announced a ban on smoking cigarettes and hookah (shisha), as well as other activities in the public parks of the emirate that harm the environment and people. The decision of the authorities says that violators of the ban will be punished with fines. The amount of fines will be determined by the authorities. They will vary depending on the severity of the misconduct.
Ajman residents welcomed the decision of the authorities. “I believe that this ban will only benefit. Families with children will now be able to enjoy visiting and walking in public parks,” said Muhammad Suheil, a 52-year-old resident of Ajman. “In addition, environmental damage will be reduced.”
